Fun winter work! Our much bigger place needs more nice people to operate chairlifts, make snow, rent equipment, serve food and drinks, and teach skiing and snowboarding. Winter work begins when snow allows us to open continues through early April. Non paid training time may be required in November.

Summary of Positions At GREAT DIVIDE
Typically each Winter Season
Lift Operator…Operates the lifts in a safe manner providing the best possible experience for the guests. Assists guests on and off lifts; instructs guests in the proper use of lifts. Maintain safe load and unload areas. Assist with ticket checking, crowd control, litter control, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to work outdoors in various winter (often extreme) weather conditions. Previous outdoor winter work experience is helpful. Ability to ski or snowboard is very helpful, but not necessary. Must be able to upload and download on lifts without using skis or snowboard.
Full-time and part-time positions available. Everyone must work weekends.
Ski & Snowboard Pros….Must be able to ski and/or snowboard at least at an intermediate level. Good communication skills, patience, desire to work with kids and adults. Previous teaching experience and/or PSIA/AASI certification is helpful, but not required. New Pros must attend and complete training program before being assigned to teach lessons for compensation.

Ski & Snowboard Rental Technician….Assist guests with equipment needs. Fit boots, select proper ski/snowboard, adjust bindings, calculate and collect fees, tune and repair inventory. Use of hand tools and power tools. Help guests with various equipment needs, problems, troubleshooting, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Grooming, Snowmaking, Maintenance Technician/Operator…Maintain and operate machinery involved in the operation of the ski slopes and trails, parking lots and roadways. Make snow, groom trails, maintain chairlift machinery, plow/sand roads & lots, fix and maintain machinery for all functions of the resort. Requires experience with machinery, hand and power tools, operating equipment, etc. Previous experience as equipment operator, welding, electronics, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical is helpful.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions. A great deal of night work is required. Must be able to work at heights. Independent thinking and sound judgment required.
Full-time seasonal and year-round positions may be available.
Ski Patrol / Trail Crew…Provide safety services to guests. Provide medical attention and evacuation from the mountain for injured persons. Enforcement of area safety rules and performance policies. Maintain proper slope and trail conditions through signage, fencing, closures, etc. Provide supervision, and breaks to lift operators.
Requires current OEC and CPR certification. (Certifications may be obtained by successfully completing the Outdoor Emergency Care course organized by the Great Divide Volunteer Ski Patrol each fall beginning in early September.) Requires on-mountain patrol certification by Operations Manager. Must be able to safely use snowmobile, chainsaw, and variety of hand and power tools.
Full-time seasonal position. May be annual position by working as summer trail crew building and maintaining slopes and trails, and general maintenance of the facility.
Food / Beverage Helpers….Cooking, cashiering, cleaning, serving, bartending….all the usual tasks involved in a cafeteria, restaurant, saloon operation. Must be able to handle multi-task as assigned. Pleasant personality and appearance is required.
Full-time and part-time positions available. Must work weekends.
No previous experience required. Good opportunity for those who do not want to work in the cold too much!
